Congratulations to Scott Frith

This from The Woodson Weekly – the weekly email update from Republican State Senator Jamie Woodson.

Scott Frith is the Man of the Year for 2005, while Martha Arnold-Charnay is the Woman of the Year. Both were honored Dec. 9 at the annual banquet of the Halls Business and Professional Association at Beaver Brook Country Club.

Frith, 25, was recognized for his work as president of the B&P Association for two years, his leadership in Tribute Trees which brought 270 trees to the media strip of Hwy. 33, and his coordination of beautification efforts to mow and pick up trash through the Halls business district.

Arnold-Charnay was recognized for her work as founder of the Halls Crossroads Women’s League, a group that raised more than $30,000 with a banquet featuring former UT football coach John Majors.

The League supports an annual scholarship of $3,000 at Halls High School. Members volunteer at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice and plan to place historic markers throughout the community.

I first met Scott in 1998, Scott helped Republican Cathy Quist in her campaign for Circuit Court Clerk. Scott was either a Senior at Halls High School or just out of high school and he mobilized some young people calling themselves “The Conquistadors”. At the time, in the primary I managed the successful campaign of Republican County Commissioner Mike Arms and in the general election managed the county-wide campaign of Republican candidate for Chancellor Wayne Houser.

A few years ago Scott was encouraged to pursue the position of Knox County Republican Chairman, he chose not to. Scott, What was that you said to me this past January? “Have you lost your mind?”

Scott is a successful businessman with Realty Executives. He is very committed to his community, Halls and is an all around good guy. If you don’t believe me, just ask him. I think I can hear him now, “it’s because, I am Scott Frith”

Congratulations Scott, it is much deserved.
