This evening shortly after 6 PM, Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs with the assistance from some little helpers flipped the switch on the Holiday Lights at the Cove at Concord Park in beautiful Southwest Knox County. Watch the flip here.
Knox County Commissioner John Schoonmaker, the Commissioner whose district the park is located, missed the last lighting of his Commission career. He is term limited and will be replaced on September 1, 2024. Two of the candidates Brad Hall and Brian Walker running in the March 5, 2024 Republican Primary to represent the people of Southwest Knox County on Commission were present. However, even last year the State Representative of the area was present and he too was a no show this year. Jacob handled it by himself with the help of Mrs. Clause and a few children.
