Criminal Court Judge Hector Sanchez – no opponent received 33,711 vote
County Commission District One – Republican Primary Charles Frazier bested Justin Hirst by 5 votes. In the Democrat Primary Damon Rawls bested former Commissioner Evelyn Gill by 247 votes. Frazier and Rawls will face off August 1.
County Commission District Two – Republican Debbie Phillips received 2,573 votes former Commission Chair Courtney Durrett received 1,845 Democrat votes Phillips and Durrett face each other and Independent Ethan Grantham on August 1 .
County Commission District Four Republican Garrett Holt 68.46% bested challenger Liz Tombras 31.54% or 2,277 vote victory. Holt now faces Democrat Shane Jackson who received 1,880 Democrat votes.
County Commission District Five Angela Russell garnered the most votes 3,305 out of a field of five. Toni Scott, Brad Hall, Brian Walker and Dale Skidmore. Russell must reach out to the other four Republican candidates combined they received 3,642 votes as Russell now has to face Physician S. Arthur Moore who received 1,077 Democrat votes.
County Commission District Six – Commission Chair Terry Hill bested Julie McBee-Fritts by 1,802 votes. Hill now faces Democrat Daniel Green, who received 1,000 Democrat votes.
County Commission District Eight – Adam Thompson bested DJ Corcoran and Kara Daley. Thompson now faces Charles Chandler who got 976 Democrat votes.
County Commission District Nine – Attorney Andy Fox 70.37% bested Barry Neal 29.63% Fox now faces Democrat Matthew Park who received 1,138 Democrat Primary votes and Independent Stacey Brian Smith
School Board District Two – Democrat Anne Templeton received 1,870 Democrat votes and now faces School Board Member Jennifer Owen and Pat Polis both Independent candidates.
School Board District Three – Republican Angela Goethert bested Bob Daspit by 211 votes. Goethert now faces Patricia Fontenot-Ridley who received 1,169 Democrat votes.
School Board District Five – Republican Lauren Morgan received 5,489 votes and now faces Democrat Terrye Whitaker who received 1,087 Democrat votes.
School Board District Eight – Travis Wright garnered 4,201 votes to Tommy Lakins 2,870. Wright will be appointed by Knox County Commission tomorrow March 6 at 11 a.m. to fill the vacancy of Mike McMillan. Wright faces no Democrat on August 1.
Assessor of Property William Ballard received 12 more votes than Jackie Raley. There are 71 countywide provisional ballots that will be opened on Friday March 8 at 9 a.m. at the KCEC West Office. The winner will face Democrat Drew Harper who got 11,235.
Law Director David Buuck bested former Knox County Republican Chair Daniel Herrera by 9,222 votes. Buuck will face Democrat Jackson Fenner who received 11,222 Democrat votes.
