This afternoon, Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs along with Doug Lawler of the Industrial Development Board aka Chamber Partnership announced to the Knox County Commission that Greenheck wants to acquire all 440 new jobs at Midway Business Park, incomes around $75,000 Seven manufacturing buildings, Three other administrative or training buildings.
This will be Greenheck’s fourth campus, it began business as a tiny sheet metal shop in Schofield, Wisconsin in 1947. They have other corporate campuses in Kings Mountain, NC, Tulsa, Oklahoma and now East Knox County, TN.
Greenheck is looking for PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) over 10 years from Knox County. The Industrial Development Board aka Chamber Partnership is recomending that Knox County sell the entire Midway Business Park to Greenheck at a discounted price of $30,000 an acre. The appraised value is $60,000 an acre.
