Knox County Schools is Jumping on the Bidenomics Bandwagon

This evening, July 11, 2024 Knox County School Board is being asked to increase ticket prices to football, basketball and all other student sports activities.

“The athletic directors of KCS are requesting a ticket price increase for athletic events. The proposed price increases are necessary to meet the rising costs associated with running athletic programs effectively. These adjustments wil (sp) help cover the essential expenses, ensuring that the programs remain competitive and sustainable.”

“Proposed
Football – $10 (current price $8)
Basketball -$8 (current price $6)
Al other sports $6 (current price $5 which includes middle school basketball)”

Has the (NIL – Name, Image, Likeness) been implemented for student athletes? NO! Is the increase of $2 per ticket significant?

It is with all the other inflationary increases due to the Bidenomics with every damn thing in the nation and world.

If this increase keeps one student away from an activity, it is a travesty. If this increase keeps one member of a family from experiencing an school athletic event as a family because one parent must stay home with a younger sibling due to the increased fee, then Knox Schools has ventured away from family and community committed, all in pursuit of a couple dollars.

This proposal seems like only an idea the most liberal School Board Member would vote for. I will report back the result. Hold onto your wallets, but you may have to start another job to continue the effects of the Bidenomics.
