Statistics and Important Information at the Halfway Point of Early Voting

Knoxville – Friday, July 19th marked the halfway point (seven days of fourteen) of early voting for the August 1, 2024 Knox County General, Federal/State Primary, and Town of Farragut Municipal Election. 

Through the first seven days, a total of 12,444 early votes have been cast, with an additional 1,435 votes cast by absentee ballot and in nursing homes.

REGISTERED VOTERS in KNOX COUNTY (as of Friday, July 19, 2024) – 303,570.

NEW VOTERS: A total o198 first-time voters through the first seven days (halfway point) of early voting.

VOTERS 100 AND OVER: A total of nine (9) voters 100 years of age or older have voted. The oldest is 106 years old.

EARLY VOTES CAST AT THE MIDWAY POINT COMPARED TO RECENT AUGUST ELECTIONS

  • August 2024 – 12,444    (total votes cast – TBD)
  • August 2022 – 12,438    (total votes cast – 55,837)
  • August 2020 – 16,776    (total votes cast – 75,606)
  • August 2018 – 17,916    (total votes cast – 81,195)

ABSENTEE BALLOT DEADLINE FAST APPROACHING

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Thursday, July 25. Anyone wishing to vote absentee can call the Election Commission at 865-215-2480 or can download an absentee request here.

PRE-GENERAL CAMPAIGN FINANCIAL DISCLOSURES

All candidates on the ballot have a Pre-General Campaign Financial Disclosure due on Thursday, July 25, 2024. It will cover the period from July 1 to July 22, 2024.
