Election Day Activities and Polling Places

Chris Davis, Administrator of Elections in Knox County appears at Knox County School Board meetings on the regular and makes the Board aware of Election Days so that the fewest number people will be at a school as the Knox County Election Commission utilizes a lot of schools as polling locations.

So, what happened on Thursday August 1, 2024 when the Federal and State of Tennessee Primary along with the Knox County General Election were underway and lo and behold Knox County held a public meeting about the completion of the Schaad Road extension at Ball Camp Elementary School? It is home to precinct 70W, it is in the Knox County Third School Board district. In addition, to citizens wanting to come see the maps and having input being frustrated with having to fight for a parking spot like it was Thanksgiving night / Black Friday at a big box retailer offering door buster deals. There were more than a few voters that gave up and drove away.

Tennessee is #1 in Election Integrity, but we are at the bottom in Election Participation. Let’s do better for everyone and not have conflicting events at a polling place again. Thanks for reading, Have a great day.
