Save Bower Field, Thunder Mountain Properties and Knox County Continues on August 19, 2024

On Monday August 19, 2024 one week from tomorrow Monday August 12, 2024 the Knox County Commission will meet for the monthly zoning agenda. Items #9, #10 and #11 on this preliminary agenda deal with Thunder Mountain Properties and properties of Thunder Mountain Properties along Sevierville Pike and Chapman Highway in the Dry Hollow Community.

Yesterday Saturday August 9, 2024 Dawn Close of Loveday Springs hosted the Dry Hollow Community and Knox County Ninth District (South Knox County) Commissioner-Elect Andy Fox.

Knox County has said that the current Bower Field on Chapman Highway will exist for at least seven more years. So, why rush on August 19 to rezone for Thunder Mountain? The new Knox County Commissioners Damon Rawls of the First District, Shane Jackson of the Fourth District, Angela Russell of the Fifth District, Adam Thompson of the Eighth District and Fox of the Ninth District take office on September 1, 2024. So why the rush for the lame duck Commissioners to approve this rezoning, there is a good six to seven years for the Bower Field rezoning? Watch the entire meeting here, with Commissioner Elect Fox discussion and answers to questions.
