KING Brian Hornback? It is all to Benefit CAC Office on Aging Senior Companions Program

Yesterday September 18, the Knoxville Knox County CAC Office on Aging announced their 2025 Snowflake Ball is February 8, 2025 at Rothchild Catering and Conference Center. They have a Royal Court annually, four ladies as Queen candidates and four men as King candidates. Well, yours truly is one of the King candidates, my fundraising page is here.

It is just beginning, I will be thinking of some fun things to do. If you think of some, message me. But you can find my fundraising page here. All proceeds benefit the Senior Companions Program of the Office on Aging at Knoxville Knox County CAC.

Senior Companion Program

Did you know that 40% of seniors in our community experience isolation on a regular basis? Can you imagine growing older in your home without the support of any family, friends, neighbors, or financial stability? Whom would you call for help?

For over 300 seniors in Knox County, the answer is the CAC Senior Companion Program. This unique program mobilizes senior volunteers to provide support to homebound, lonely, and isolated older adults – free of charge.

The Senior Companion volunteers receive a small stipend for their service which helps them purchase necessities such as food and medicine. Your donation today will go towards covering the stipend, meals, and transportation costs for Senior Companion Volunteers.

Why ME?

My position with the team at the Knox County Trustee is with Elderly, Disabled and Disabled Veteran Tax Relief and Tax Freeze. So it made sense to me that in my third tax year working with Seniors, I would subject myself to the term “snowflake” but any that know me knows the political term, does not match me. We are referring to Winter, the real snowflakes that sometimes fall from the sky.

Meet Brian Hornback, a 2025 Snowflake Ball King Ambassador. Brian works at the Knox County Trustee’s Office. We are grateful to Brian for becoming a King Ambassador to help raise awareness and funds for our Senior Companions Program! To support Brian, visit here.
