YES, Rep. John Gillespie’s Opponent Is Violating Election Law

In response to my email and this post, three days ago. Today, i received correspondence to the complainant that the TN Registry has no authority over Liberal Democrat Jesse Huseth, the opponent to State Rep. John Gillespie regarding his blatant disregard for the “Paid for” disclosure requirement on campaign material.

The Registry of Election Finance (“the Registry”) recently received a sworn complaint submitted by mail regarding Jesse Huseth. Your complaint alleged violations of Tenn. Code Ann. § 2-19-120. However, the Registry has no authority or jurisdiction to address matters alleging violations of this statute. See, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 2-10-206, 207 outlining the Registry’s statutory authority and duties.”

“Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 2-19-120, violations of this statute are a criminal matter; therefore, you should address your concerns to local law enforcement and/or your local District Attorney General’s Office.”

Good luck with that Shelby County DA, but maybe the Sheriff will pursue action.
