United States Senator Lamar! Alexander from Tennessee spoke to a joint session of the State House and Senate and announced that he will introduce legislation that will allow states (if they decide) to collect taxes from online retailers.

Yes, it is a new tax. We’re supposed to be paying a tax on things we buy out of state. So, I guess Pigeon Forge will start collecting sale taxes for all those states where all those tourists come from and remitting those taxes back to those states.
The internet tax I believe is unconstitutional, unless there’s a brick and mortar presence.
Besides that, it shows how bad the addiction among politicians is to everyone else’s money.
