Community Activist John Stancil decided to see if there is any interest in having an East Knoxville Republican Club. He spent about a week spreading the word and on Thursday at Habanernos Restaurant on Asheville Highway near Holston Hills the first potential East Knoxville Republican Club met.
One of the jokes that I would tell during my term as Republican Party Chairman is that the Democrats would meet in a phone booth. The thought is that there are no Republicans in East Knoxville. On Thursday, there were enough people to fill at least three phone booths and they were all ready and roaring to go.
The future success of an East Knoxville Republican Club is so positive that John Stancil has to wear shades. Stay tuned.
