This story that Local8Now has about a Knox County School Security Officer shooting an unarmed man outside an Elks establishment on Saturday night is NOT to be confused with the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks that date back to the 1800’s.
Elks Lodge #160 located in West Knoxville is the ONLY lodge facility in the Knoxville area. This particular lodge has given free shoes to needy school children in Knoxville and Knox County since the 1940’s.
As a disclosure, I am not a member of the Elks. I do have a lot of friends who are members and probably a few people who are not friends.
