Last night the Second Annual Summer Singing in the South was held at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. Headliners Karen Peck and New River along with The Taylor’s garnered a big crowd.
Opening up the evening was Katelyn Parker. Parker is 16 years old from the Powell community of Knox County has a voice that can only be described as a Gift from God.
Scott Allen, formerly of the Imperials came out and blessed the audience with several worship tunes.
The brothers and sisters family group “The Taylor’s” from North Carolina came out and led worship.
There was a brief intermission where a memorial time was held to honor the life of Charlotte Mull. Jamie Lewis, Sales Manager of WJBZ and Tommy Spencer of Senior Care Assistance shared some remembrances of Charlotte.
Then Karen Peck and New River came out and shared songs “Four Days Late” which was awarded song of the decade by Singing News. They were encouraged to do several choruses of “I Will Wear a Robe and Crown” Two songs that were memorable. Were “Thank You” and “Hold Me While I Cry”
During one of the intermissions, I had a chance to meet Karen Peck and she is such a genuine Christian lady.
I would like to thank Russ Woolard and the folks at New Destiny Productions for having advertised the concert here on BrianHornback.Com for the past several weeks. I hope to be a source of promotion for them again in the future.
