WATE reported here that Knoxville leaders are poised to give TIF (Tax Increment Financing) for the old Baptist Hospital redevelopment project. Is this a good investment? Wasn’t TIF’s granted for the South Knoxville project that is directly across the river from Neyland Stadium? I want to read some of your thoughts. I am not decided. Sound off! Good or Bad?

I’m not completely sold on TIFs as a cure all. But in reality, I think whomever takes this project will need a boost from the city and county as an incentive. Right now Baptist is an empty eyesore. It would be nice if it did not remain that way, and I think this is the best way to ensure that outcome.
