I received a copy of an email that Corryton Church Pastor Rocky Ramsey sent early this week. It said in part,
Gibbs Middle School Meeting. Local County Commissioner David Wright is committed to getting a Middle School built here in the Gibbs community. There will be a public meeting on Thursday October 24 at 6 p.m. at the Halls Elementary School where you can voice your support for a Middle School in our area.
David will also be meeting with a smaller group of people tomorrow evening (Ed. Note: I assume this was on Tuesday October 1, 2013) at Henry’s Deli and Bakery on Tazewell Pike. Call there at (687-8856) for the time.
Serving Him and You,
Rocky
The meeting on October 24 is the Knox Co Schools Insight Sessions about the schools five year strategic plan.
In East Knox County, tonight the KCS will be robo calling into the Carter/Gibbs school zones for Monday October 7th Insight Sessions at Carter Middle School. You may want to read this Lydia McCoy story from the Big Metal Shed on the Hill about the Insight Sessions.
It is reported to me that Conley “Mr. Carter” Underwood is the voice on the robo call for the Carter and Sunnyview communities. State Representative Harry Brooks is the voice for the Gibbs/Corryton area.
Also, on Monday before the Insight Session at Carter Middle the school district will have a ribbon cutting for the new Carter Middle School Gymnasium.
