I thought about the press conference that Ed Mitchell, Blount County Mayor held at the entrance of the National Park last week. He offered to have Blount County Officers patrol the National Park while it is closed by the Federal Government.
Then I remembered that on Friday there was no bus service due to a shortfall in the county budget. So, Blount County can not transport kids to school every day that schools are open, but the Sheriffs Department can patrol the National Park? Do What?
