The Special Services Unit of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office is offering a free Business Crime Prevention Seminar for business owners and managers this month. The seminar will be held on October 24th from 5-9 p.m. at the Expo Center located at 5441 Clinton Hwy.
Crime typically increases during the holiday season, and stores, restaurants, and banks are not exempt from this trend. Unfortunately, dishonest people and criminals are attracted to cash businesses and resort to robbery, burglary, shoplifting, credit and gift card fraud, embezzlement, and theft.
The KCSO is offering the free seminar to help prepare business owners. Participants will learn how to make their businesses safer. Topics covered in the seminar will include Armed Robbery Survival, Taking Crime Prevention to Work, Shoplifting and Fraud, Homeland Security, and Counterfeit Monies. “This seminar will provide local business with practical, useful, and timely information that will help make their workplaces safer. It will also ensure that local businesses become more involved in homeland security efforts,” said Sheriff Jones.
