Back when my oldest son (he is almost 23 years old) was in middle school. He played football all three years with CBFO, we kept the team together. A day or two after their last game, one of their coaches Chris Johnson died unexpectedly. A few years ago, a longtime friend and father from that team Gregg Harper unexpectedly passed away.
Now, another father from that team has passed, Bruce Russell. I have known Bruce long before middle school football. Both his family and mine are longtime members of First Baptist Concord. Even as he battled cancer for the past several years. He was always positive and relied on the fact that God is in control. Bruce got to enter the gates of Heaven earlier this week. A time of visitation, remembrance, celebration and memorial service will be held on Saturday. Here is Bruce’s obituary.
But here is to an ole friend that I will see and visit again soon.
