This is my opinion. After the successful launch of Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones re-election his rumored opponent Bobby Waggoner needs to re-engage his previous exploratory committee and expand it beyond just his immediate family.
Jones had the most diverse group of supporters that I have seen in over 31 years of Knox County grassroots politics service. Waggoner a former railroad law enforcement officer that got promoted to an Assistant Chief position differently than any other Assistant Chief promotion and while his sister was a sitting General Sessions Judge. That is my recollection of his promotion, I could be corrected. If so, I will correct it.
