Sally Absher submitted her qualifying petition and treasurer appointment today at the Knox County Election Commission. Assuming Lynn Fugate, the current School Board Chair seeks re-election, there will be a contested race.
Four years ago, Fugate was elected without an opponent on the ballot. There is time for other candidates to enter as the filing deadline is not until 2/20/2014 at NOON. The early birds typically are the most effective.
