Knoxville resident Dr. Terry Douglas who has been a pioneer in many different medical research ventures in the past is now embarked on Proton Therapy.
Because Governor Bill Haslam has been in the news with several different questionable connections. It seems that every bill with a FOB (Friend of Bill) is being put under a microscope.
Insurance companies are not paying or approving proton therapy for cancer treatment. My State Representative Ryan Haynes has a bill that would encourage insurance companies to cover proton therapy.
While I am not a fan of ACA (Affordable Care Act) if the federal government can mandate that you have insurance and pay for insurance then it seems logical that you should be able to receive the best treatment available. Proton Therapy may be the right answer for someone’s ailment.
While News Channel 5 wants to make a big deal about Rep. Haynes walking out on an interview. The question Ben Hall asked was answered. Haynes said that would best be answered by Dr. Douglas or something along those lines. When Hall started going down an argumentative route, Haynes ended it politely. So there you have it.
