This from the Murfreesboro Post reveals that Ralph Mayercik, a Republican candidate for Sheriff has been taken of the ballot for not being a bona fide Republican.
His bona fide credentials were challenged at the county level, then a special committee of five State Executive Committee members recommended Mayercik not be placed on the ballot. TN Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney then upheld the decision.
According to the news report the bona fide credentials are taken from the TN Republican Party by laws. They are that you must meet one of three standards. They are 1. vote in two of the last four Republican primaries or 2. participate in local Republican Party activities or 3. be vouched for by an elected Republican office holder.
That is good information to file away. Never know when your bona fires may be challenged.
