This story from the Tennessean details how early voting has increased participation in the mid state area. So, what’s wrong with Knox County? Early Voting ran from April 16 until yesterday and all the reports are a low turnout, that means a bunch of folks need to show up at your assigned voting precinct on Tuesday from 8 am – 8 pm, remember though you must dodge the Knox County Schools students. Because school will be in session.

Early voting has not increased turnout in Knox County – never has. It has only shifted half of the turnout to the 3 weeks prior to Election Day. As Chairman, turnout was always a concern. As a candidate, I have no idea what effect it has on any given race.
