This story from the Big Metal Shed on the Hill on the 100 year celebration of Johnson & Galyon was a good read. I noticed the quotes from Rudy McKinley of East TN Children’s Hospital of how the hospital always bids it projects and Johnson & Galyon is selected.
I remembered that a wing of the hospital is named after the former President and Current Johnson & Galyon Chairman of the Board Jim Bush. I thought Bush was a member of the ETCH Board. He is not currently, but I went to Bush’s bio on the Johnson & Galyon website and he has served on the ETCH. He is listed as Chairman Emeritus, the bio pictured below,
Is it a conflict to be on a Board and always be the significantly low bidder on construction projects. Big and small.
