Here, Phil Williams of Nashville’s Channel 5 News has uncovered some Nashville arrogance again. It seems that Commissioner Bill Gibbons is being chauffeured halfway to his home in Memphis from Nashville with THP Officers. The bureaucracy doesn’t see a problem with it and they are apparently going to continue doing it. At times far exceeding the posted speed limit.
I met Gibbons as he traveled the state thinking, evaluating a possible 2010 run for Governor. A former Shelby County District Attorney General, I didn’t sense the arrogance as it seems from Williams report. Gibbons and I along with a campaign staffer ate breakfast at Sami’s Cafe in Franklin Square in deep West Knox County. I am disappointed in my one time acquaintance.
