Election Night Predictions

In Ninety Minutes, the polls will close. BrianHornback.Com has enjoyed ad revenue from a good many campaigns. I have thought about whether I want to do predictions or not. Donila did some this morning, with 90 minutes to go, here I go.

Congress Second District: Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr. will receive a 14th term of office. As I think about the arrogant, demeaning persona of the Congressman’s opponent, I wonder if his lesson in this loss is to teach him some humility.

Congress Third District: Weston Wamp will take the seat from Rep. Chuck Fleischmann. The first televised debate pushed Chuckie on a slip and slide and he hasn’t received his footing yet. If this prediction, hold more tomorrow on how the Second and Third district are different.

Congress Fourth District: Congressman Dr. Scott Desjarlais will return. Jim Tracy just ain’t what the fourth wants or needs.

U.S. Senate

Republican Primary, Senator Lamar Alexander wins, Flinn may be second loser with Carr as third loser. Does it matter how close or far away? No!

Democrat Primary: Gordon Ball bests Terry Adams as TN’s Democrat offering.

Knox County Clerk: it is no fun in predicting this one, Foster Arnett

Knox County Trustee: Ed Shouse wins against Jim Berrier, Berrier is capable and really needs a shot beyond his party label.

Knox County Criminal Court Judge Division III: Both Scott Green and Leland Price are great guys, exceptional litigators and prosecutors. I have gotten to know both. I believe Green wins tonight. Price suffering same fate as Ken Irvine. A great guy but being a D is no fun in Ktown.

Knox County General Sessions Court Judge Division III: Judge Patricia Hall Long gets her full 8 year term. George Underwood, what were you thinking?

Fourth Circuit Court Judge: Greg McMillan, McMillan was my second political ad back in January 2014. McMillan will right the sinking ship of the titanic that has been created over the last three or so decades. Daniel Kidd, while I hear great reports of him, I met him a couple weeks ago, seems like a good guy, but a Democrat party that can’t raise him any money is just a waste of time.

Knox County Circuit Court Judge Division II: Judge Harold Wimberly, Jr. When you get to know Judge he is likable, competent and not the old decrepit man he was portrayed to be.

Knox County Chancellor Part II: Daryl Fansler, Fansler’s experience as chancellor and handling hard, extensive! complicated cases make him the hardest guy to best in an election. His opponent Clarence “Eddie” Pridemore is a likable guy, hails from Harlan County, Ky and is a personable guy. With many years of litigating experience under his belt, Pridemore will be a better candidate in 8 years or so.

State Representative

District 13: Eddie Smith and Jason Emert, I think the race is tight, I like both guys and either will be 150% better than Rep. Gloria Johnson. That race is set for November 2014. I will predict the edge to Emert.

District 18: State Representative Steve Hall will best challenger Martin Daniel. If the election were held three weeks ago, Daniel May have had a chance, some of Daniel’s views and monetary contributions were revealed and will likely be the difference.

State Senate

District 7: Senator Stacey Campfield made a believer out of me in 2006 when he handily beat two opponents for his state house seat. I said I would never pick against him until he is taken out, in 2014, I predict he beats Commissioner Richard Briggs. Could I be wrong? Of course! Am I the only one to predict a Campfield win? Probably! Either way, have at it tomorrow with your Monday Morning Quarterback Arm Chair reactions.

State Executive Committeeman

Republican District 5: Leon Shields, not even close.

Democrat District 6: Cameron Brooks will be replaced by Leon Daugherty. Why just cause I think so.

Democrat District 7: Bill Owen will survive a challenge by Mark Harmon. Primarily, because the poor Knox County Democrat Party can’t afford any more embarrassment and having Harmon as their SEC member could force the jump off the bridge that they really don’t need.

There ya go, I started 90 minutes before polls close and is being published 45 minutes before they close. And you people think this is so DadGum easy.
