This evening the North Knox / Ftn. City Republican Club met. I only knew that Eddie Smith was the Speaker. However, when I got there Dr. Richard Briggs was present along with the three candidates for Second District School Board. Briggs went first because he was on call at the hospital. He spoke briefly and when it opened for questions. I reminded him that I attended and covered the Knox County Young Republican debate between him and State Senator Stacey Campfield (Campfield is still the Senator until after the November 4 election is certified) I asked him to address the criticism that he has refused to debate his Democrat opponent.
He said that he and Campfield debated on 6 occasions, he has debated his Democrat opponent twice, he and his opponent have appeared on the Hallerin Hilton Hill Show on WOKI NewsTalk 98.7 FM and on George Korda’s show. He personally knocked on 11,000 doors and the election team knocked on 40,000 doors. He will have 4 mailings in this election. He said that if his opponents wants to get their message out then they should knock on 50,000 doors.
While at this meeting apparently the Democrats decided to attack a tweet that I sent before the meeting so guess what Fitzhugh and Democrats, Screw It! Briggs has answered the question. He has sufficiently debated his opponent. I am not a voter in the State Senate District Seven. So, the issue is OFFICIALLY DEAD.
Briggs also announced that his new campaign manager, Collin Thompson. He stated that Bonnie Brezina that had coordinated the campaign in the Primary has moved on to Montgomery County to work.
Move on, NOTHING ELSE TO SEE HERE!
Smith described his race and the issues and again, in my humble opinion, he is far superior Representative to represent the 13th House District than the current occupant. So, there ya go,
