2025 City of Knoxville Elections

Here we are in 2025! the only elections this year are in the City of Knoxville. It is the district races (except the Fifth). The races are non partisan, meaning they are not on a Republican or Democrat ticket.

Yes, City voters decided to throw the Fifth District in with all other districts. But not so fast, Councilman Charles Thomas was elected until 2027, so in 2027 there will be a Fifth District election for 2027-2029 and then in 2029, all districts will be elected together.

First District, Vice Mayor and Councilman Tommy Smith is term limited and out, Knox Planning Commissioner Karyn Adams is the only announced candidate. Adams is Principal of HA Thirty One, a marketing and communications firm. Her comprehensive bio is here from the Knox Planning website.
