Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett in Knoxville to discuss Safe at Home and Election Integrity

On Friday February 21, 2025 TN State Rep. Elaine Davis hosted Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett in Knoxville.

Secretary Hargett discussed Safe at Home, a program birthed from legislation that Rep. Davis carried last year. He also spoke about training businesses can receive for their employees to learn how to recognize and report possible human trafficking. You can watch that here.

Secretary Hargett also discussed Tennessee receiving for the third year in a row, the designation as First in the Nation in Election Integrity. An honor bestowed on the state by The Heritage Foundation. You can watch that here.

It is always a good time to briefly see my friend Tre Hargett, a former TN State Legislator, a former Executive with Rural Metro. However in 2009, Hargett was elected by the Tennessee General Assembly to serve as Tennessee’s 37th Secretary of State and re-elected in 2013, 2017, 2021, and 2025. Secretary Hargett is the chief executive officer of the Department of State with oversight of more than 300 employees. He also serves on 16 boards and commissions, on two of which he is the presiding member. The services and oversight found in the Secretary of State’s office reach every department and agency in state government.
